Description:

Scale up your artwork! Designed for ages 9–14, this immersive 4-week Art Lab series explores advanced 3D sculpting without traditional clay. Inspired by modern sculptors like Barbara Hepworth and the organic forms of The Hepworth Wakefield, artists will learn wire armature engineering, plaster wrap layering, surface texturing, and dynamic painting techniques to build freestanding, large-scale sculptures.

Weekly Schedule:

  • Sept 9 (Week 1): Structural Engineering & Wire Armatures

  • Sept 16 (Week 2): Plaster Application & Form Sculpting

  • Sept 23 (Week 3): Surface Refinement & Dimensional Detailing

  • Sept 30 (Week 4): Technical Painting & Pop-Up Studio Showcase

All tools and materials provided. Please wear studio-appropriate clothing that can get messy!
