VonSass Homeschool Art Club - Ages 12-18 - Month 1: Drawing Foundations
VonSass Homeschool Art Club — Month 1: Drawing Foundations
Ages 12–16
Wednesdays | 1:00–2:30 PM | Feb 4, 11, 18, 25
4-week homeschool session
This 4-week drawing-focused art club is designed specifically for homeschooled youth ages 12–16 who are ready to deepen their skills, slow down, and learn how to see like an artist.
Through guided instruction and hands-on practice, students will build strong foundations in drawing using graphite and charcoal. Each week builds on the last — developing confidence with line, value, and proportion — and encourages students to think critically about their work while exploring expressive mark-making.
This is a small-group, skill-focused class in a calm studio environment, ideal for teens who enjoy creating and want to grow their abilities in a supportive setting.
🎨 What We’ll Explore
Week 1: Drawing Foundations
Line quality, pressure control, basic proportion, and observational sketching.
Week 2: Value & Shading
Understanding light and shadow, blending techniques, and creating form through value.
Week 3: Charcoal & Expression
Working with charcoal to create depth, contrast, and mood through mark-making.
Week 4: Finished Drawing Project
A refined graphite and charcoal drawing that brings all skills together.
